The KOMO quality markTHE ORGANISATION BEHIND THE KOMO QUALITY MARKKOMO's strength is in the tight organisation behind the quality mark. Many organisations are involved in this. SBK (Stichting Bouwkwaliteit) owns KOMO and attends to the organisation, management and inspection work. SBK has succeeded in obtaining full recognition from the Ministry of Housing, Spacial Planning and the Environment for the KOMO quality statements that are related to the Building Decree! Another body is the Dutch Council for Accreditation. It inspects certification bodies (CBs), which in turn assess whether your product or process is worthy of the KOMO quality mark. Building Harmonization Committee (HCB)What does the Building Harmonization Committee (HCB) do at KOMO? This supreme authority ensures uniformity in assessment directives on the basis of which a product or process is certified. An assessment directive of this kind is drafted by a Board of Experts, on which all the interested building parties in the sector concerned participate on your behalf. This may include you, for example, as a producer! Assessment directives are not only made watertight from the legal point of view, on the basis of current building standards; they are also based on all the technical requirements set by the market and the building process. KOMO therefore goes further than the performance requirements of the Building Decree: the quality mark is in line with today's building technology and building process. KOMO: LEVEL 1+ (conform CPD)This all works out very well for producers that market KOMO certified products. After all, KOMO always certifies at level 1+. KOMO Guarantees:• compliance with statutory requirements (Building Decree and Building Materials Environmental Decree),
